One of my favorites

Now…  I have to say one of my most favorite places to shoot is http://www.middletonplace.org.

Why? O.M.G. BECKY, there are so many elements to choose from. There is old brick, there is water, there are oaks, there is wrought iron…..these are a few of my favorite things. But I have to say, the MOST wonderful thing about it is there is LOTS and LOTS of room to maneuver, which allows for me to use some of the lenses I love most. In some of the tighter locations I have to use the lenses that will do the job, which aren’t always my favorite. At Middleton, there was much open space to use the lenses that produce the better images. In this case, you can tell with Scott and Corinne’s wedding.  Beauty in all it’s splendor.

These peacocks were SO vibrant walking around…strutting their colors. I hadn’t really seen peacocks since I was a kid at the zoo. It’s really amazing all the colors and how vivid they were.

I really love this picture for some reason. It shows the motion of her putting on her last dab of powder and she just has this calm happiness to her. I love the ambience of the natural light and just her overall sense of peace.

Sometimes when I have a drab location I just check out the bathrooms. Sometimes I luck out, such as I did here. I loved the grid in the bathroom windows.

Scott and his ‘boys’ were a lot of fun. I have noticed in the psychology of doing our weddings that some guys feel really stupid taking photos and hate the entire process then there are the ones that really GO with it and make it fun. Well, these guys had no problems. They were a riot. Not to mention good looking. This group, all of them were really ridiculously good looking!

It had looked gray and rainy most of the day, and we were all crossing our fingers. Corinne and Scott came all the way from Scottsdale, AZ to get married here. Well, right about ceremony time it started coming down. Most of the pics it’s pretty visible. What I loved about Corinne is she had that do or die attitude…….I talked to them briefly about ‘Plan B’ and quickly found out there was no ‘Plan B’. Corinne said she flew here all the way from Arizona to get married outside at her much beloved location, Middleton and rain or shine she was getting married outside! And dammit, that’s just what we did. I actually love rain… my camera doesn’t think much of it but I love the calm stillness and the lighting that rain brings. I was ok with the rain but ole Oprah (my camera) had other thoughts.

Look at these amazing hills. When I saw them, I composed this shot in my mind…..I had to have it. It turned out great. Just in case you are wondering, Corinne does have a ‘bump’. She found out she was pregnant, and I believe she was 5 months along in the photos. Will undoubtedly be a super cute baby.

Umm, they had some serious air.

Again……even the weeds at Middleton are beautiful.

Wow, I posted a lot from this wedding. You get it, right? I love Middleton.  Just wanted to give you the idea of all the beauty other than the bride and groom themselves.

I hate that I’ve had to start putting my names on photos but I’ve been thieved a few times.  Sometimes the thief will associate my name and then other times they will even put them on their own website as work they have done. Therefore, I had no choice.

I want to keep true and tested to my useless facts each night……eventually I will run out of weddinformation but will continue to find some useless garb to pass along. Here’s ya go:

More than 10,000 marriages a year now are directly traceable to romances which began during coffee breaks.

That definitely gives the water cooler new meaning. Feeling thirsty anyone?

Until next post

Today’s useless fact happens to be:

Strange But True

In Pennsylvania, Ministers are forbidden from performing marriages when either the bride or groom is drunk.

All I can say is, that definitely is not the case here in good old South Carolina. (poke, poke).

Natalie - The florist I met with today told me about asking his sister at her wedding if she was high at the ceremony. Interesting how that played together with your info today.

December 17th Weddinformation

Today is ‘The Momma’s’ Birthday.  Laugh. I have an asian friend Milyn who calls her mother ‘The Momma’ and so when i talk about my mom objectively I call her ‘The Momma’. Still cracks me up. Happy Birthday Moms, you Sagittarius in all your splendor! Hope you like that new perfume I sent you (Amazing Grace by philosophy).

Today I had these funky adrenal tests done by spitting into these tubes and having my adrenal levels tested. My cortisol levels are a tad off mainly b/c I work all night when most people sleep. So when you wake in the morning, the feeling of being awake and refreshed means you have higher cortisol and that level is supposed to decrease throughout the day. Well mine doesn’t work that way.. and I just think they are really fascinating. I got that news today about the results and am still trying to process that information.

Here is today’s Weddinformation:

Two couples share the record for the longest marriage in history. Sir Temulji Bhicaji Nnman and Lady Nariman were married from 1853 until 1940, when he died. Lazarus Rowe and Molly Weber were married in Greenland, New Hampshire in 1743 and remained married until 1829, when she dies after their having been married for 86 years.

Awww… I’m so glad that I’m not the only one that is going to be married so long it will carry over into another life. (Me and Jim have been together since I was 13! GASP).

December 16th Weddinformation

Today’s useless wedding trivia in case you’re ever on jeopardy and this EVER comes up, you are totally prepared.

The most expensive wedding on record was a seven-day celebration of the marriage of Mohammed, son pf Sheik Rashid Ben Saeed Al Maktoum, to Princess Salama. The wedding took place in Dubai and the bill came to $44 million.

Now, my prices somehow look really reasonable, don’t they now folks? * In my best Waylon Jennings*.
