J{x}2

Jami and Jon got married on a BEAUTIFUL October day. Jami happens to be the winner of my Wedding Giveaway Contest from last year. I’ve conversed with her quite a bit before her big day and was finally happy to get to work with her. They got married at St. Luke’s dowtown Charleston.

How cute Jon was. Nervous and anxious. I tried keeping him distracted for the most part. I’m not too sure it was working.;)

This really says it all. He was very emotional and I find that  admirable. The vulnerability Jon was so easy to display was very heartwarming.

Some aren’t too excited to see me around.;)

Here is Jami’s winning entry for the Contest. She included photographs of the little girl but decided to maintain privacy for the family involved. Congratulations Jami. You are not just a nurse but an angel in disguise.

well, first of all…will ferrell is hilarious, and anyone who doesnt think so creeps ME out…
i have one photo that is framed and sitting on my dresser that i look at and thank God for every single day…not trying to play the “C” card or anything, but i am a nurse at MUSC and i work on the pediatric hematology/oncology floor…i am blessed to have the opportunity to take care of kids with cancer and many other serious illnesses…anyway, to make a long story short, we had a baby on our unit that had a rare blood disorder that was diagnosed when she was first born…she actually lived on our unit (7B) from the time she was 2 months old until the day she passed away in July of ’07…she was 17 months old when she died…she lived in the hospital her whole life…she was in DSS custody,so she did not have any parents to stay with her or take care of her…she went through extensive chemo, had a bone marow transplant that resulted in many compications…she never really smiled until she was over a year old…we raised her…we watched her first teeth come in, heard her first “babble” words (that we would swear were “mama” and “i love you”)…we would dress her in the cutest clothes, we had her 1st birthday party and played “santa” at her first and only christmas…we loved her more than the world…she was “our baby”!!…
well, in a nut shell, she was very sick, and in her lifetime she actually went OUSTIDE only twice… some nurses dressed her up in her prettiest dress, put bows in her hair, put her in a wagon and took her outside to the courtyard of MUSC…she loved it…she sat on a blanket in the grass and smiled and lauged…and was just happy to get some fresh air, i guess….and i have a picture of her smiling on the blanket on the grass outside… she looks so happy and content and possibly forgot that she was sick for a few minutes until she had to go back inside…
she passed away and we were heart broken….it really felt like our family member or our own personal child had died…we held a funeral for her and everyone in the hospital that knew her (and everyone did because she was there for so long) came to her little service…
anyway, i look at her picture every day and it reminds me that no matter how bad your life may be, you can still embrace a moment and be happy…and feel blessed…
that is why photography is important to me…so you and everyone else who sees the picture can know and remember the happiness or whatever emotions the picture captures…they bring back good memories and erase the bad ones…
i have always wanted a great photographer for my wedding day, and i was very impressed by your photos on your website….so if i dont get a deal, i am still interested in your work for my wedding…it is October 10, 2009…
i am getting married at St Lukes Chapel downtown (the same church we held Cerrica’s funeral service! :)
sorry if i made you tear up a little!!
hope to hear from you soon…
thanks,
Until Next week xoxo
