2009 will be a great year. I’m already smarter about my business and know the direction I want to take it. Hey, that’s a feat within itself.  Each year is a learning curve and this new year I have learned what I do like and what I will no longer be tolerant to.  One day after the new year, and I’m remarkably more intelligent already. 

I looked back on some pics that stood out for me in 2008 and the reasons for it. Without being redundant, I posted it on facebook and you can view it there.

Average Age
In 2000, the average age for a bride was 24 years and for the groom is was 28.

Honeymoon
The first weddings comprised of a groom taking his bride by capture. He would take her somewhere hidden away so her 
relatives and villagers couldn’t find them. There they stayed for one moon phase and drank mead, a wine make from honey, to make them more amorous. Thus, the word “honeymoon” was born. Today, the honeymoon is the time when the couple can get away for awhile.

You almost know everything now.

So went out today for a bit, the kids talked me into it. They had money burning holes in their pockets so much to my dismay, we went out. The traffic was insane. Much worse than the Christmas crowds.

I took two days off. Much needed. Now back to the grind.

The tradition of bridesmaids dressing the same as each other and in similar style to the bride comes from ancient days when it was believed that evil spirits have a more difficult time distinguishing which one is the bride and putting a hex on her.

Ok, now we no those spirits are long gone. It’s much cuter to have the girls dress different in similar schemes instead!

Merry eve of Christmas eve… It’s nearly midnight and nearly forgot my weddinformation. In 7 minutes it will have been the 24th and I would have missed it, but for now – here’s your fact:

In most American states, a wedding ring is exempt by law from inclusion among the assets in a bankruptcy estate. This means that a wedding ring cannot be seized by creditors, no matter how much the bankrupt person owes.

*wipes forehead* escaped that one!
