Information to pull on your friends when you have lost all intelligent integrity

December 22, 2008

Finishing the Christmas activities. I finished two weddings this past weekend.  Mucho editing… mucho eyes crossing staring at the computer screen.. but YAY, one more thing off the to do list.

Here’s tonight’s useless weddinformation:

Moroccan women take a milk bath to purify themselves before their wedding ceremony.

Sheez, I sure hope that’s not buttermilk.

December 18th Weddinformation

Today’s useless fact happens to be:

Strange But True

In Pennsylvania, Ministers are forbidden from performing marriages when either the bride or groom is drunk.

All I can say is, that definitely is not the case here in good old South Carolina. (poke, poke).

The florist I met with today told me about asking his sister at her wedding if she was high at the ceremony. Interesting how that played together with your info today.

December 17th Weddinformation

Today is ‘The Momma’s’ Birthday.  Laugh. I have an asian friend Milyn who calls her mother ‘The Momma’ and so when i talk about my mom objectively I call her ‘The Momma’. Still cracks me up. Happy Birthday Moms, you Sagittarius in all your splendor! Hope you like that new perfume I sent you (Amazing Grace by philosophy).

Today I had these funky adrenal tests done by spitting into these tubes and having my adrenal levels tested. My cortisol levels are a tad off mainly b/c I work all night when most people sleep. So when you wake in the morning, the feeling of being awake and refreshed means you have higher cortisol and that level is supposed to decrease throughout the day. Well mine doesn’t work that way.. and I just think they are really fascinating. I got that news today about the results and am still trying to process that information.

Here is today’s Weddinformation:

Two couples share the record for the longest marriage in history. Sir Temulji Bhicaji Nnman and Lady Nariman were married from 1853 until 1940, when he died. Lazarus Rowe and Molly Weber were married in Greenland, New Hampshire in 1743 and remained married until 1829, when she dies after their having been married for 86 years.

Awww… I’m so glad that I’m not the only one that is going to be married so long it will carry over into another life. (Me and Jim have been together since I was 13! GASP).

December 16th Weddinformation

Today’s useless wedding trivia in case you’re ever on jeopardy and this EVER comes up, you are totally prepared.

The most expensive wedding on record was a seven-day celebration of the marriage of Mohammed, son pf Sheik Rashid Ben Saeed Al Maktoum, to Princess Salama. The wedding took place in Dubai and the bill came to $44 million.

Now, my prices somehow look really reasonable, don’t they now folks? * In my best Waylon Jennings*.

December 15th Weddinformation Fact:

Useless but fascinating.

The youngest couple ever to marry was an eleven month old boy and a three month old girl who were married in Bangladesh in 1986. The marriage was arranged in order to settle a twenty year feud over a disputed piece of farmland.

*** I really think that gives new meaning to robbing the cradle****

Everytime I post a comment after my fact…it reminds me of the Dukes of Hazard when Waylon Jennings would narrate something along the lines of …..’Now, I don’t know about y’all but that boy’s CRAZY!’

Although my voice isn’t nearly that deep and I don’t just sit around with a guitar……but you get the idea!

Only 10 more days until Christmas. The post offices are crammed, the mall parking lots are FULL…. are you happy and excited or are you tuckered out and ready for it to be over? Don’t get that post Christmas holiday let down. This season with the media constantly talking about our terrible economy, make sure and step out and do something nice for someone. It doesn’t have to even be a gift. If usually you are an aggressive driver and never let anyone out in front of you, take a step back and let someone out in front of you for a change. It’s funny how when you pay it forward someone else feels validated enough to do the same thing for someone else and then all a sudden – things are smoother and not as tense. You may have even made someone’s day a little bit better……..and just think…one of YOUR small acts of kindness started it all. ;)  Good job, you cupcake driver, you!
