Money’s Tight | Charleston and Columbia, SC Wedding Photographer

We often get inquiries about session / wedding and will get the response of ‘Money is Tight’ or ‘We just can’t afford it right now’ or ‘I found something cheaper’. And that is fine. We understand. Trust us . . . We know what budgeting is ALL about. We don’t, by any means, live an extravagant lifestyle where ‘budget’ doesn’t appear at least twice a day! j. Maybe not that often, but you know what I mean. We completely understand.

We are aware of our price point. We are aware of our quality of work. We are aware of those other photographers out there in our line of business. We are aware of the competition. We know that not everyone can afford us. However, we also know that there are a number of people out there who just don’t know how to think about the ‘importantance’ of things.

We recently were sent a blog post by email this week . . . that discusses a woman who booked a $500 session with a photographer. She at the last minute cancelled because she knew she couldn’t ‘afford’ the session at the time. — I’m not going to explain the entire post because we want you to read it first hand — But, after a few life altering things happen to her and her family, she calculated $200+ of non-necessity items that she could have ‘lived without’ and put towards a session all within a matter of two weeks (correct me if I’m wrong on some calculations).

Please go and read this post. It just amazes me how things can change. And how often we don’t think about how to ‘preserve’ the time we have with our loved ones.

Jessica & Jon Ralph | Wedding

Jessica & Jon Ralph’s G U E S T Blog:

{Our story: John Ralph and I met in 9th grade and were friends throughout high school. He likes to say I “never gave him the time of day”, being the cheerleader from the rival high school, but I always considered him to be someone I admired. He had more drive than most guys and I always knew I would hear about the great things he would accomplish one day. Little did I know, I would be celebrating those accomplishments with him. After we both went our separate ways in college we lost communication for a while. Thanks to social networking (facebook and old school instant messaging) we reconnected in our second year of college. John Ralph invited me to be his date to his sisters debutant ball over christmas break. That night was when things between us started to change into something more than “just friends”. The following february I flew to new york to visit him at West Point and see the big apple. That weekend we knew we were onto something good. Three years, and lots of phone calls, plane rides, and letters later, John Ralph decided to put an end to our long distance relationship by asking me to marry him during a trip to Charleston. We planned a wedding in three weeks so we could move to Italy together for his job (he is an officer in the US Army). And the rest is history!}

We hope you enjoyed the images! If you are interested in Tomme Hilton Gallery, please email us at gallery.tommehilton@gmail.com — We would love to work with you!

erin + ryan | fun love

Erin and Ryan were married at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Taylors, SC with a reception to follow at the Willow Creek Ranch in Landrum, SC. The Church was one of the most beautiful Catholic Church we have seen in a long time… huge doors, high ceilings, great lighting… And the Reception site, just AMAZING. You drive up to this beautiful house, with a river that runs into a ‘pond’ in the back, a beautiful red barn that over looked the pond… Okay… I really could go on for days talking about both of these places, let’s skip to this FUN — and I mean FUN — couple.

Now, the wedding day was the first time that we got to meet the beautiful couple because they had scheduled to do the ‘day after’ session with us after their honeymoon.  Erica and I like to meet our clients before we shoot them so we can get a feel for their personalities, who they are, what they expect, etc. — But we didn’t need to do that with Erin and Ryan because they were so EASY to photograph. They off the bat had these fun, easy going personalities. We didn’t need to loosen them up to the camera, they were naturals — I’m not just saying this to be nice, they really were!! The E-N-T-I-R-E bridal party was that way! Check out our photos and let us know what you think!

SEE! Now, tell me this crew was not fun! Naturals, right? We were so excited that Erin and Ryan decided to use Tomme Hilton Gallery as their photographers! These are the experinces we thrive on!

Thank you Erin and Ryan!

{Guest Blog} Brandi + Aaron

We asked our recent bride, Brandi, to submit a ‘guest blog’ to give others a different point of view of us and her wedding day. Please read the guest blog below from Brandi + Aaron

. . . . .

Tomme, ever since I saw your work a few years ago I knew then that you would be the one to shoot my
wedding and all other details would fall into place (little did I know it would actually come true). When
the day finally came words cannot express how truly excited I was to work with both you and Erica.
From the first minutes you started shooting it was as though we had met for hours discussing every
detail of the day.

The pictures have captured a special day for my husband and I, and our families. Tomme and Erica
captured every fun detail that they saw possible and even those little moments in between that they
knew would mean the most. The moment when I first saw my soon to be husband, my grandpa and my
dad walking me down the aisle ( both crying), the look on my finances face as he was standing up front
and of course all the great family pictures that you can never seem to get enough of. All great examples
of memories they helped capture that will last a lifetime.

When Tomme said she was available for our date I had no idea how much fun we would have while
shooting but that night we both went to sleep with the saying “one-two-down jump” fresh in our minds
due to all the great action shots. Thanks again Tomme for being so great at what you do!!

. . . . .

Thank you Brandi and Aaron for a sweet blog! We enjoyed our day with you!!

Take a look at Brandi and Aaron’s wedding day. It is hard to believe that we captured your magical day in just FOUR hours of shooting!!
